The Pirates are Gomez's eighth organization, and that makes him a first-ballot selecetion to my JHOF, which, to go along with its members, will change locations on an annual basis.

Other inductees - pitcher Mike Morgan (12 teams in 22 years), outfielder Reggie Sanders (eight teams in 17 seasons) and catcher Sal Fasano (seven teams in 10 seasons).

Guys such as Rickey Henderson aren't eligible - yeah, he hopped around a lot, but he spent his prime with the Oakland Athletics and New York Yankees.

Gomez should have stayed put today - he gets doubled off second on Josh Wilson's line out to center.
