Bottom of the 2nd

Shaggy-haired Magglio Ordonez leads off, and my mind shifts to Game 4 of the 2006 American League Championship Series. His ninth-inning grand slam off Oakland closer Huston Street clinched the pennant for the Tigers, and sent them to their first World Series in 22 years.

Every kid's dream right there. I must have hit 100 title-winning home runs in the backyard growing up, and Ordonez got to do it for real. Today, however, his towering fly to right-center field is chased down by Njyer Morgan just in front of the wall.

Dumatrait walks Miguel Cabrera, but Carlos Guillen grounds into a 6-4-3 double play.

The pitchers look sharp. We're cruising.

0-0, heading into the third.
