No offense today for the Pirates. Maybe they're saving the big bats for Tuesday in Fort Myers against the Red Sox and Daisuke Matsuzaka (how come Boston has Dice-K and Pittsburgh has. ... never mind, rhetorical question).
This is a nice change from the first few games, which have all lasted beyond three hours. That flies a lot better on the gridiron, where they don't play 200 games a season.
Former Rays prospect Evan Meek allows a run. Meek is a Rule 5 draft guy, which I think means if the Pirates don't keep him on he big-league roster, the Rays can re-claim him.
Possibly one of the biggest questions of the spring thus becomes: Which earth-bound franchise shall inherit the Meek?
