Put your rally caps on, Pirates fans. The visitors have found a left-hander they can hit, J.C. Romero. Outfield prospect Steve Pearce knocks in a run with a single to make it 3-1, and back-up third baseman Neil Walker actually can put the Pirates ahead with a home run.
Not looking at a 3-2 pitch, he can't. Not because of that at-bat, mind you, but we suspect the 22-year-old Walker needs more seasoning before he's ready for Pittsburgh full time.
