Bottom of the 6th

Pants pulled up to his knee, Mike Timlin enters as the new Sox pitcher. He turned 42 on Monday, and has a solid career - he was on the mound when the Toronto Blue Jays won their first World Series in 1992. He won a second one when the Toronto repeated in '93, and has won two more rings with Sawx.

Most impressive? Timlin is a right. It's the lefties - i.e. Jesse Orosco - who usually pitch into their 40s. But Timlin, who has logged 1,155 innings in 17 seasons, is still here and still effective.

But the Pirates have gotten to him. Freddy Sanchez singles, and one out later, Adam LaRoche doubles down the right field line. The fans get up, too, as "Let's Go Bucs" briefly makes its way around the crowd.

Doumit fuels the rally, lining a two-run single to left to tie the score. But Ellsbury runs down Jose Bautista's screaming liner to center, the game is tied at 2.
