Jeter pleases the fans with a double down the LF line. Abreu knocks him home with a single up the middle. If I remember correctly, Abreu got off to a horrible start last year. Maybe he did something this off-season to make sure he didn't sputter out of the gates. Wow, A-Rod just crushed a ball off the left field fence. You could hear it thump the wall from the press box more than 400-feet away. That was hardest hit ball of the night. He just couldn't get any lift.
Morris has now allowed 12 hits, and only one has been a dink-job. The Yanks are squaring up Mr. Morris, and my making my fantasy draft later tonight is in serious doubt. OK Posada just hit a duck-snort single, scoring Abreu. A-Rod rounded third by a large margin, but Wilson got to the ball quickly in shallow left and fired it home. A-Rod hit the brakes and scurried back to third where nobody was home to cover. The Yanks could bring him home home, anyway.
The Yanks like these lights. They have 13 hits in four innings.
