Yankees fans might remember Pirates reliever T.J. Beam, who was 2-0 in a brief stint with the pinstripers in 2006. Unfortunately, his ERA was 8.50 and he was signed by the Pirates as a minor-league free agent in December.
The 6-foot-7 Beam retired the Reds 1-2-3, which on a day like this draws comparisons to Mariano Rivera.
