The wind might have helped, but Geoff Jenkins just took Snell over the right-field fence for a 2-0 Phillies lead.
Jenkins is a big fantasy football guy. Says so in his media guide biography.
Pedro Feliz just hammered a line drive to left for back-to-back homers. Feliz won't hit for average, but his power is a nice addition to an already strong lineup. He averaged 21 homers a season the past four years with the Giants.
Another line drive, another hit -- this a single -- by Chris Coste. Snell may be tiring, but he gets a break because Kendrick will be bunting.
Media guides can help fans get through the offseason. All you need to do is open one and discover:
*The Phillies hit into 162 double plays in 2007, 20 more than their opponents.
*Steve Blass had an 11.57 ERA against the Giants in the 1971 National League playoffs before becoming a World Series hero against the Orioles.
*Willie Stargell holds the Pirates' single-season record for home runs on the road, with 27 in 1971.
*Greg Gross had 117 career pinch-hits in a Philadelphia uniform, the most by any Phillie.
Nowhere, though, does it confirm Philly fans once booed Santa Claus.
It's 3-0 Philadelphia after five.
