Face In The Crowd

The weather - the best we've seen this spring - perhaps coupled with the fact that today marks the Rays' only trip to Bradenton this year, has brought on a strong, late-arriving crowd, filling the concourses and the stands.

Among the throng of people waiting to use the ATM and stocking up on souvenirs and hot dogs, there was Chuck Tanner, who managed Pittsburgh to its last World Series title in 1979.

People filed past Tanner, donning a beige fishing hat and carrying a brief case, passing up a chance at a choice autograph.

We're about 10 minutes until game time - and a young couple just got engaged on the pitcher's mound.

One of the first to congratulate the happy couple? Pirate outfielder Njyer Morgan, out to catch the first pitch.
