Shane Youman returns to the mound for the Phils, and that's about it. Olmedo moved from second to shortstop, so he stays in as well. I first saw Olmedo playing shortstop with the Dayton Dragons. That was in May of 2000, the Dragons first year. Olmedo was on a team with Austin Kearns and Adam Dunn in Dayton that summer. As a young and up-and-coming SS, he was almost has highly thought of as Dunn and Kearns. But Olmedo has never been able to hit enough to compete every day at the major league level.
Youman puts the first two runners on base to start the inning. Then Wilson walks to load the bases for Bay. Bay flew out to right, scoring Rivas with the Pirates' sixth run. Greg Golson, a decent prospect with the Pirates tried to cut the runner down at home, but allowed the other runners to move up in the process. LaRoche followed up with a broken-bat sacrifice fly, scoring McLouth. The inning ended with a ground out by Ryan Doumit.
