Blue Jays vs. Pirates, top of seventh

Left-hander Damaso Marte is making his first spring-training appearance for the Pirates after being sidelined with the flu.
Between innings, Pirates interns sling-shotted gift packs into the stands. They were booed lustily whenever they failed to reach their target.
Interestingly -- at least, as memory serves -- I have never been booed lustily.
Doug Mientkiewicz has entered the game at third base. He's not hitting yet, but few would be surprised to see the former Red Sox and Yankees player make the team.
Two up, two down. ... Say, are you buying what the Rays are selling, and how our sabermatrician buddies are predicting them to win 84 games? I'm not, and I'm not saying that to be irascible.
Unfortunately, I don't know how my Giants can compete in the NL West.
We sold our soul 15 years ago when we signed Barry, and for all the thrills and heroics, we G-Men fans still need to hearken back to 1954 for a world championship.
Which sure as heck beats being a Cubs fan.
