I hit the wrong button. Sorry.
Former Rays pitcher Casey Fossum is going to try to hold 'em. Attendance just announced at 3,854, so a lot of folks couldn't handle the bus fare this day.
A flock of seagulls senses it's almost over, as they circle the left-field stands looking for hot dog bun crumbs, popcorn, an abandoned seat cushion.
Considering how slow the first two innings went, it's surprising to see the game might get done in less than three hours. Back in the 1970s, nearly every spring training game I went to was 2:30 or less.
OK, call me a dinosaur. A curmudgeon. A bitter, out-of-touch relic who still believes Billy Martin's style of managing can work in the right situation.
Just don't call me late for assorted cheese products, shrimp and asparagus with Hollandaise sauce.
Guess what -- Fossum has loaded the bases for third baseman Sergio Santos. And the left-hander is having trouble finding the plate.
But he gets Santos to ground into a force, keeping the home side's deficit at 7-5.
