Four in a row retired for Duke, who seems to be more confident than Saturday. Pirates fans are anxious for the left-hander to return to his 2005 form, when he was a combined 20-5 at Triple-A Indianapolis and Pittsburgh. Last year was rough, as he struggled with elbow problems.
Rod Barajas doubled down the left-field line -- barely fair. But Duke gets Sal Fasano swinging, bringing Eckstein up for more RBIs.
Duke's control looks good -- he is painting the corners. Eckstein hits the next pitch hard to left-center, but Kevin Thompson makes a nice running catch and it's still 6-3, Bluebirds.
