The Pirates have knocked Burnett from the box, in favor of left-hander Mike Gallo.
Luis Rivas led off with a double inside third base and McLouth tripled on the first pitch to right center. McLouth was thinking three bases out of the box, to the delight of the sun-splashed crowd.
McLouth -- who insists he is not Irish -- dashed home on a wild pitch, making it 4-0.
This Gallo kid is a little wild. He got Sanchez to hit into a double play, but just walked Bay and LaRoche back-to-back, giving Xavier Nady a chance to break the game open.
Does anybody remember late Pirates manager Danny Murtaugh, the "Whistling Irishman?" All he did was lead Pittsburgh to World Series titles in 1960 and '71.
Nady popped to first, so it stays 4-0.
