Matty Mo is indeed done for the day. In steps Franquelis Osoria. If MLB.com is updating regularly and not behind, this game has caught up with its sister to the south. The Pirates trailed the Twins 4-0 in Fort Myers. Carlos Gomez, trying to make sure he makes the Twins out of camp, added a triple and an RBI and Joe Mauer, hitting out of the No. 2 hole has scored twice. Mientkiewicz has two of the Pirates' three hits through four innings in that one.
Speaking of MLB.com, good feature on the home page today. They polled a bunch of MLB scouts about the best players at every position and the best tools and particular skills in the game.
No Pirates or Reds in the bunch as near as I could tell. Look at Scouts Honor on mlb.com if you want to see more. I'll just tease you with Jimmy Rollins at SS and Pujols at 1B.
Back here in B-town, Jose Bautista, making up for an earlier error, just robbed Edwin Encarnacion with a diving stab past the third base bag and down the line. He saved extra bases and probably a run, as speedy Brandon Phillips was on first base.
Osoria strikes out Hatteberg and strands Phillips on second base.
