Both of the Pirates' speed guys at the top of the lineup, Nyjer Morgan and Andrew McCutchen, grounded out. McCutchen nearly took Roy Halladay downtown, but his long drive curved foul before he beat one to third baseman Scott Rolen.
For a team that has scored seven runs in four games, facing former 20-game winner Roy Hallday is no picnic for the Pirates. Hallday has won 16 each of the past two seasons.
Another ground out by Chris Gomez is perhaps a harbinger of what's to come this afternoon, but I'm not making any predictions.
