Despite my work duties --you did read my game story, didn't you? -- the night game was a thoroughly enjoyable event.
No longer will Bradenton be viewed by the elitist Northern media as a city that closes shop and rolls up the sidewalks at sunset (although it is best to avoid the rutted trail to the castle through the Carpathian mountains).
The crowd was enthusiastic from the outset, and Nate McLouth's leadoff home run for the Pirates raised the energy another notch.
Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, starting pitcher Matt Morris was absolutely hammered. The Yankees were spot-on against Morris, and it'll be interesting to see how he bounces back.
Snell has no such worries for now, recording a 1-2-3 inning.
