Here are the lineups for today's game:
Pirates
1. Nyjer Morgan, cf
2. Josh Wilson, ss
3. Nate McLouth, rf
4. Jason Bay, lf
5. Adam LaRoche, 1b
6. Ryan Doumit, c
7. Jose Bautista, 3b
8. Chris Gomez, dh
9. Luis Cruz, 2b
Paul Maholm, p
Morgan and McLouth may be competing for the job in centerfield, but they'll be sharing some green this afternoon. Maholm told The Associated Press he may consider hanging up his spikes if he gives up a hit to Billy Crystal.
Yankees
1. Billy Crystal, dh
2. Derek Jeter, ss
3. Bobby Abreu, rf
4. Alex Rodgriguez, 3b
5. Hideki Matsui, rf
6. Robinson Cano, 2b
7. Shelly Duncan, 1b
8. Jose Molina, c
9. Melky Cabrera, cf
Mike Mussina, p
Analyze this - Billy Crystal is leading off! He adds even more star power to this lineup, which, with the exception of the 59-year-old SNL alum at the top and Jose Molina catching in place of Jorge Posada, will be the Yankees' everyday arsenal come the regular season.
The question for today is WWBD - What Will Billy Do? Will he bunt? Strike out? Will Maholm save face and - gasp! - walk him?
We shall see. What I can promise you, however, is the word "mahvelous" will appear nowere in this blog.
Well, with the exception of the above sentence.
