Guess it's spring training for the broadcasters, too.

Prior to the game, former Pirate pitcher and announcer Steve Blass said he was only doing five innings today, choosing not to put any undue strain on his vocal chords this early in the season.

(Actually, some of Blass' high-school buddies are in town, and he wants to watch the game with them.)

The Pirates go quietly against new Ray pitcher Jae Kuk Ryu, and still trail 4-1.
