Not much in the way of starters left in the game. The Pirates misplayed a ball of the bat of Alvin Colina to lead off the inning. No error, but it should have been caught and was allowed to fall in between three players in shallow CF. Drew Anderson follows with a single up the middle. Fans boo, but I think that has something to do with ballpark bingo and not with an animosity toward Anderson or Jolbert Cabrera who just came to bat.
Much-traveled Hector Carrasco is in trouble against much traveled Cabrera. After Cabrera went down on strikes, late-offseason pickup Corey Patterson singles to left to load the bases for another late offseason pickup Jerry Hairston Jr. These pick ups were probably one of the things that led Freel to believe he was not wanted in Cincy anymore. The Reds always have more outfielders than they know what to do with, but they always want more.
Just saw the Nationals are beating the Tigers, and Lasting Milledge hit his first HR of the spring. While I typed that Hairston grounded into a 5-4-3 DP to end the inning.
